The Role

To be a multi skilled HV Technician to be able to carry out HV fitter and jointing tasks up to 33kV.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will be carrying out all electrical works which range from installation, routine maintenance, and repairs for high voltage customer networks.

The Person

Qualifications & Experience

  • Achieved City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent to an electrician.
  • Successfully completed a formal jointing and fitter qualification.
  • Must hold JIB approved ECS card.
  • Computer literate – skilled in MS office.
  • SSE authorised would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK driving license – 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or Distribution Industry.
  • Experience of both old and new switchgear and associated apparatus is highly advantageous.
  • Experience of delivering efficient and effective services to customers.
  • Good knowledge Distribution Safety Rules, safety procedures and codes of practice in combination with health & safety legislation requirements.
  • Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects within time, cost, quality and safety
  • Good knowledge of a wide range of High Voltage plant and equipment.
