The Role

To act in the capacity of a Senior Authorised Person in accordance with the electricity supply industry Model Distribution Safety Rules (MDSR).

 

Job Purpose

Responsible for electrical safety management for any project which they have made safe for others to work upon, ensuring whereverpossible compliance to asset owner standards. The Senior Authorised Person may also have project manager responsibilities for a portfolioof projects ensuring their safe and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ONC in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent –
  • Pre-existing distribution network operator authorisations (Ideally SSEN) to 11kV OHL & UG with Sanction for Test. –
  • Full UK driving license –

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Distribution Network experience within the Electrical Supply
  • Ability to give direction in application of Distribution Safety Rules, safety procedures and codes of practice in combination with health & safety legislation requirements.
  • Familiarity with relevant network diagram software
  • Customer awareness and knowledge of DNO client expectations and how to meet/exceed
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the requirements of electrical projects and procedures required for
  • Proven ability to apply relevant design/planning procedures and
  • Proven ability to deliver projects within time, cost, quality and safety
  • Good understanding of the asset owner interfaces and network
  • Good knowledge of a wide range of High Voltage plant and equipment
